Oil primed linen canvas for stretching as individual canvases, gluing sections to masonite panels using vinyl wood glue, or simply taping them with high stick gaffers or duct tape to a sheet of Luan or 1/4" inch plywood to then be removed and stretched at a later time.

Pre-stretched linen or cotton canvas
Linen canvas is recommended as the linolic acid in the fibers guarantees the longevity of the painting. Pre-stretched cotton canvases are widely available in art and craft stores. Be advised that cotton canvas will eventually deteriorate.
